Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 29th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 29th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊
We're deep into the new revamped season now and should see the first End of Season in about 4 more days or so. How time flies indeed ⌛😱.
It has been a mixed bag for me in terms of my experience with the new format. The old method of renting a wide variety of cards at level 1 to be able to switch between splinters and strategies does NOT work anymore (for me at least). Right now, it seems that in order to achieve a good win rate, a player should rent the maximum level (or nearly the max level) cards available for the league he plays in. Once I switched to just renting my daily focus and the appropriate level cards, I found that my wins got back to a consistent level.
The cheap rental prices seemed to be just an aberration, as it was in the first few days of the season, where max level gold foil legendaries were going at 0.1 DEC. This was largely down to the huge exodus of BOT accounts 🤖❌🤖❌🤖❌. Players are now spending more generously than before in order to get the high level cards needed to compete. This is definitely a good thing in my opinion. It drives the adoption of owning more cards and merging them together 🤑💰🤑💰🤑💰.
I've been getting a lot more chests as compared to before, and I expect even more come the End of Season. However, my luck has been mediocre at best, with nothing particularly valuable gained. I still managed to churn out a net positive though, after account for rentals. So no complaints there. After all, I still got a decent amount of cards and my Collection Power is still gradually growing.
My quest for that elusive Gold Foil Legendary from my rewards chests continues on though 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 (It's a 0.008% chance to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉). I'll get there some day (i hope).
Here's a quick rundown on the improvements in rewards chests for those who're still unfamiliar. The higher your previous End of Season finishing, the better the chests you'll qualify for in the following season during the Daily Focus. Be warned though, if you're not playing at the league you're supposed to be at, you'll find that acquiring points for the higher level chests will be more difficult and you might end up with even lesser chests than before. ⚠️⚠️⚠️
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

Weekly Chaos Legion Sales Tracker
And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 41.5k sold since last week. Still not too bad. That is still quite an amazing sales figure! 😄
The average number of packs sold per week seems to have stabilized back to the normal 50k/week again.
Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 338k away from the 9 million mark! 😄 Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
