There is so many things happening in Splinterlands at the moment and I have to say it is very excited. Riftwatchers is launching in a matter of hours from now. In order to buy a pack you will need one voucher and $5 in SPS. €1 more than Chaos Legion packs which seems around right given the limited supply of Riftwatchers.
At the moment I am still hustling to upgrade my Chaos Legion deck. During the Chaos Legion presale vouchers went through the roof. I think at one stage they were $20. This time around however vouchers are bearly hitting $1. This is a welcome sight and it is clear that Splinterlands players have vouchers stashed after the Chaos Legion sale from staking SPS. Obviously from the price charts there is less of a demand for vouchers before this presale.
It am interested to see how the Riftwatcher launch goes. There is excitement but players will have to put their money where their mouth is. Chaos Legion took off and some cards went through the roof only to come plummeting down again when players realised there was plenty of supply and the cards were unlikely to sell out. So in hindsight it was better to wait for Chaos Legion and select the cards you want from the market rather than buy 1000 packs in the presale. I am aware of the airdropped cards for sweeteners but you can even pick up these cards for under $5 nowadays. The bargains you can get in todays market are unbelievable I think more players will use this method this time around.
As well as that the question is in the title, is the Riftwatchers launch too soon after Chaos Legion launch? Could they have left it for another 6 months? There are still around 5 million packs left from Chaos Legion. I am aware the supply of Riftwatchers is much less and this will add to the attraction plus some of the cards will be really good. We may even end up having some meta changing cards launching that will end up like Llama and Yodin.
So it is hard to known how this launch will go. I will definitely be purchasing a few packs anyway. Not anything near 50 or not even 100. I may just buy 10 for the craic. It is like a kinder egg for me, these packs. I think the whole pack opening is addictive in a sort of gambling way and I love an aul gamble. In games like FIFA, there are viral videos of kids pulling a Messi and Ronaldo and they celebrate wildly. I am like this when I pulled a gold foil legendary. Seeing the card shake is great.
Splinterlands HQ must be mad at the moment with land expansion , Riftwatchers, DEC to SPS changeover, tower defense and on top of all this they have the Genesis League launching. It is an extremely exciting time and they look like they are nailing it so far. As I said before I do not think that the Hive Community appreciate what kind of game they have on their hands here. It is safe to say that Splinterlands is bigger than Hive itself. I know some of you will rebuke this but the fact of the matter is that it is true.
I have always said it about Hive. It is like Ethereum. The token itself will not make you rich but the second layer tokens might.
The likes of SPS and DEC have great use cases and are not some "project". They are workable tokens.. You earn SPS now by winning a battle in Splinterlands and this can be converted to crypto. This is huge and it is just the beginning. And when people say it is a small amount for winning a battle. I won a battle in gold yesterday and I was awarded 0.6SPS. Then I won another 8 and I accumulated 5 SPS in 15 minutes. That is 35 cent. Better than playing Eldin Rings and getting nawt. This is the future of gaming here and we are at the forefront. The next year will be amazing for Splinterlands and the lure of play to earn will attract new players to the platform. Building a deck is not free but nobody claimed it would be. To earn you have to invest and invest people will because the ROI will be amazing.
