Greetings friends!

In the times of the Soviet Union, everything was filtered and subject to censorship, literature, visual arts, theater and ballet, science and any other sphere of activity and creativity.

Among poets and writers, those who ridiculed the tsarist regime and capitalism and glorified the power of the peasantry and workers were welcomed.

One of the poets, rebels, who, even, was in exile in my homeland, in Moldova, is widely known to the whole world - Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.

He often ridiculed tsarism in his poems and poems.

One of his poetic tales was called "The Tale of Tsar Saltan".

The plot of this tale is a bit like the plot of the novel "The Count of Monte Cristo", but there is less blood and suffering in it.

If you have not read this tale, then, because of the slanderers, the king was angry with his wife and his newborn son and ordered them to be chained in a wooden barrel and thrown into the sea to perish.

While the barrel was floating on the sea, the son grew up and one day, the barrel was washed ashore.

Having got out of the barrel, with mold, Prince Saltan met his future bride, a sorceress, who created great wonders for the prince and her own kingdom about which his father learned and wanted to see the magnificent wonders of that island.

Once, a meeting between father and son took place and the son forgave his father, we see this moment on a postage stamp from series Miniatures from Fedoskino issued in the USSR in 1977.
