Strike Suit Infinity is a Sci-fi Space flight fighter game, It is an Arcade version of the game Strike Suit Zero. The levels are never ending as you fight your way through wave after wave of enemies, the only stopping points are to upgrade your weapons and call reinforcements with the primary goal of achieving the highest score possible and get placed on the leaderboard.
You pilot a 'Strike Suit' which has the special ability to transform into two forms,
'Pursuit mode' - the starfighter form equipped with lasers and missiles that allow shooting while maneuvering the zone. It controls like any flight simulator... BUT IN SPACE!
and 'Strike Suit' - The Mecha format that allows you to strafe around while blowing your arsenal upon the enemy at high rates of speed and maximum damage, the red Flux meter you see at the top is your timer and once its diminished you're reverted back to Pursuit mode.
Knowing when to utilize each form is a good key to success and to maximize your score, If the enemy is spread out then Pursuit form would be good but if they're grouped together than you better believe swapping into the Strike Suit is your next move.
Here is a good example of how you want the enemies to cluster when you swap, I'm just too much of a goof to realize until they've already spread out.
The waves have a limit and then you move on to the next 'round', every two rounds you go into bonus mode to get more points and credits to help upgrade your ship or buy reinforcements.
the Bonus round looked like this to me due to the swarm of enemies and the rate of weapon fire that was constantly hitting me. Yes each of those red lights are enemy ships!
Your Ship Upgrades page is pretty self explanatory.
You can choose what type of allied ships you want to support you in a round, You're able to upgrade the pilots and order multiple squadrons to help you out. Now here is where things are different! The reinforcements are actually useful, they shoot down enemies and the enemy starfighters will chase them down leaving you alone while you shoot down everybody else.
Your team warping in before the wave starts.
As you progress the enemies become more varied and you'll have to change your strategy and weapons to better take them down.
If you keep yourself and your reinforcements alive you'll see this colorful display whenever you are approaching the battle.
Eventually the tide of foes becomes too much
and!
The Game Over screen along with all the stats on the play through, maybe next time I'll use a controller instead of M+KB.
Strike Suit Infinity released in 2013 but its still a really fun game and looks amazing graphically and good for when you're tired of multiplayer but still just want to play a game. What's your favorite game to play when you need a break from multiplayer?
