Pediatra venezolana de cabecera [ESP-ENG]

Querida, comunidad @motherhood, escribo para expresar la importancia de contar con un pediatra de cabecera para evaluar la madurez del niño. Un especialista que es vital para recibir orientación médicas y asistencia acerca del desarrollo de un hijo, y a su vez que esté profesional calme la ansiedad y comprenda la situación por la que atraviesa la familia. Estuve 1 años y medio sin tener contacto con un pediatra que evaluara la evolución de mi hija y al mismo tiempo, atendiera un llamado en caso de emergencia, debido a razones de pandemia y como inmigrantes estuvimos sin este guía, pero todo eso cambió hace una semana.

Dear @motherhood community, I am writing to express the importance of having a pediatrician to evaluate the maturity of the child. A specialist who is vital to receive medical guidance and assistance about the development of a child, and at the same time that this professional calms the anxiety and understands the situation the family is going through. I was 1 and a half years without having contact with a pediatrician to evaluate the evolution of my daughter and at the same time, attend a call in case of emergency, due to pandemic reasons and as immigrants we were without this guide, but all that changed a week ago.

El sábado 11 de septiembre, mi hija Amanda fue evaluada por una pediatra venezolana que ejerce en un servicio de salud privado en Argentina. Mi esposo y yo tomamos la decisión por el bien de todos, ya que no queríamos esperar más turno por médicos argentinos. Había la necesidad de llevar a la niña y estar orgullosos y a gusto con el calor de nuestra cultura, porque sentíamos un vacío con la forma de los pediatras de este país, que por alguna razón quienes atendieron a mi hija la empatía estaba ausente.

On Saturday, September 11, my daughter Amanda was evaluated by a Venezuelan pediatrician who practices in a private health service in Argentina. My husband and I made the decision for everyone's sake, as we did not want to wait any longer for Argentinean doctors. There was a need to take the child and be proud and comfortable with the warmth of our culture, because we felt a void with the way pediatricians in this country, that for some reason those who attended my daughter empathy was absent.

La afirmación en decir, de crear una relación de comunicación social y de empatía entre los padres, la niña y el pediatra era imperante. La reacción de Amanda al entrar al consultorio de inmediato fue un cambio a favor, porque se sintió cómoda, un trato amable y cariñoso. Amanda conversó con la pediatra y jugaba con los objetos didácticos, mientras la pediatra hacía las preguntas pertinentes sobre el desarrollo de la niña. La espera al estilo de Venezuela, tuvimos un largo tiempo en la sala y la consulta de calidad. La niña fue pesada y medida, confirmando que hay un resultado a favor en aumento y talla de superar la condición que padecía (excreción de calcio por la orina). También hubo un chequeo general oído, corazón, pulmones, piel y nariz. Amanda no tuvo ni miedo, ni molestia, se sentía bien con la doctora y establecían conversación.

The affirmation of creating a relationship of social communication and empathy between the parents, the child and the pediatrician was imperative. Amanda's reaction upon entering the office immediately was a change for the better, because she felt comfortable being treated with kindness and affection. Amanda talked with the pediatrician and played with the didactic objects, while the pediatrician asked pertinent questions about the child's development. The wait in Venezuela style, we had a long time in the room and quality consultation. The girl was weighed and measured, confirming that there is a result in favor in increase and size to overcome the condition she suffered (excretion of calcium in the urine). There was also a general check-up of hearing, heart, lungs, skin and nose. Amanda had no fear, no discomfort, she felt good with the doctor and they established conversation.

Sentí que este era la relación que buscaba para que mi hija recibiera un trato sensible y profesional. Una pediatra que sugirió realizar otros exámenes de rigor para descartar sobre el percentil de Amanda; la refirió a un pediatra nutricional y recetó un tratamiento para la tos que presentó, luego de atravesar una gripe fuerte de estación de invierno. Mi niña está por terminar el tratamiento, está mejor y ahora cuento con una pediatra que ha dejado en claro cómo es el trato hacia un ser pequeño para que los padres estén tranquilos; un profesional capacitado en el área, además de dejar los medios para contactar en caso de emergencia o duda, por tanto, la especialista Gabriela se convirtió en la pediatra de cabecera venezolana de mi hija Amanda.

I felt that this was the relationship I was looking for so that my daughter would receive sensitive and professional treatment. A pediatrician who suggested further tests to rule out Amanda's percentile; referred her to a nutritionist pediatrician and prescribed a treatment for the cough she presented, after going through a strong winter season flu. My daughter is about to finish the treatment, she is better and now I have a pediatrician who has made it clear how to treat a small being so that parents can be calm; a professional trained in the area, besides leaving the means to contact in case of emergency or doubt, therefore, the specialist Gabriela became the Venezuelan pediatrician of my daughter Amanda's bedside.
