Hay un lugar muy especial aqui en Santa Cruz al cual me gusta ir cada vez que tengo algo de tiempo. Se trata del TEA, el Tenerife Espacio de las Artes. Es un espacio cultural algo similar a algunos museos de Caracas, tiene ese ambiente silencioso y con un misterioso eco de fondo que no sabes exactamente de donde viene, típico de museos y sitios por de ese estilo.
Más allá de eso, hace unas semanas atrás, visité la exposición de arte ubicada en el último nivel del edificio de las instalaciones del TEA. Tomé las fotografías que se muestran en este post. Se trata de una exposición de obras de estilo surrealista. No llegué a tomar fotos de todas, no sólo por evitar saturar mi galería de fotos sino porque algunas de ellas no son aptas para todo público.
En la sala más alejada de la entrada de esta exposición, había una exposición de obras de arte y cuadros de estilo erótico. Algo que me ha impresionado de aquí, o al menos de las personas que estaban en ese momento vistando la sala al igual que yo, es que los niños se "autocuidaban" de ver esas imágenes sin que los padres tuviesen que taparles los ojos. Es curioso también que se permita la entrada de niños a esa área.
Una de las pinturas es bastante curiosa. Yo personalmente no hallo otra explicación que la de un dinosaurio deprimido porque ya sabe que caerá un meteorito y que dentro de millones de años se convertirá en petróleo. El arte surrealista de algunas de estas pinturas me recuerda al estilo artístico de algunos álbumes de Pink Floyd, sobre todo The Wall y Dark Side of The Moon. Otra de mis favoritas es la de la pareja con un gato de fondo.

There is a very special place here in Santa Cruz where I like to go whenever I have time. It is the TEA, the "Tenerife Espacio de las Artes". It is a cultural space somewhat similar to some museums in Caracas, it has that silent atmosphere with a mysterious echo in the background that you don't know exactly where it comes from, typical of museums and places like that.
Beyond that, a few weeks ago, I visited the art exhibition located on the top level of the TEA building. I took the pictures shown in this post. It is an exhibition of surrealist-style works. I didn't get to take pictures of all of them to avoid saturating my photo gallery and because some of them are not suitable for all audiences.
In the room farthest from the entrance to this exhibit, there was an exhibit of erotic-style artwork and paintings. Something that impressed me here, or at least of the people who were visiting the room at the time, as I was, is that the children were "self-care" to see these images without their parents having to cover their eyes. It is also curious that children are allowed in that area.
One of the paintings is quite curious. I can find no other explanation than that of a dinosaur depressed because he already knows that a meteorite will fall and that in millions of years, it will turn into oil. The surrealistic art of some of these paintings reminds me of the artistic style of some Pink Floyd albums, especially The Wall and Dark Side of The Moon. Another of my favorites is the one of the couple with a cat in the background.
