OCD Posh Compilation Announcement

With the @poshtoken being under way to working properly soon and the release of the token being airdropped on users and a market being created for it we think it's a good time to start working on improving how people #posh. Thanks to @fbslo for his development work on the distribution bot, check out the @poshtoken account for the initial announcement and reblogs of how the token is distributed and how you can register.

Some of you may have noticed that we have a posh channel in the OCD Discord server, we've usually refrained from having a post promotion channel as that mainly encourages spam and people just looking for some easy rewards to drop their link in and go afk without caring much about community, engagement, etc. With the #posh channel our idea was to increase the engagement between Hiver's on Twitter and in the near future also other centralized platforms to increase the reach and hopefully traffic it brings back to our front-ends of which we're going to keep adding more and more to the @poshtoken distribution of. Currently we're only supporting Hive.blog, peakd.com, 3speak.online and ecency.com.

While we're not going to name all of the indicators to increase your chances at receiving curation by sharing your #posh link in our channel, we're going to let you know how you can improve your chances a bit while at the same time improving your reach on Twitter.

  • When you share your links onto twitter, make sure that $hive and #hive are not the only tags you use. Furthermore don't tag random users in hopes to increase your chance of curation.

There's a lot of mindless tagging going on, not only on Twitter but also on Hive, it's pretty cringe to see tags with #trafalgar, #appreciator, #ocd, etc. I can tell you right now I'm pretty sure none of the mentioned parties curate by tag, but by communities.

  • Tag relevant to your content. If your post is about skating, add a popular skater tag, if your post is about nature, add a nature tag.

Search for popular tags on twitter relevant to your content and add the one that pops up highest, even though there's highly likely not too many who look through twitter tags this will still get you some more traffic to your content than only adding $/#hive to it.

  • If you're sharing peakd.com links, make sure to use your referral.

Although this one won't be a requirement for curation, it's in your best interest to share your referral link, not only will you get 3-5% beneficiary rewards from posts of users who may sign up through your link but it'll also give you an idea of your reach or improvement of it.

For the OCD curators and team behind the Posh compilation, we're going to start off casual at first. Checking through each link posted in the #posh channel and once we scale a bit more track them through gina notifications again like we've done in the past (there's a lot of them as many use posh). Maybe we can also just follow the @poshbot comments which @themarkymark has created. One thing we could improve there, though, is if sharers automatically categorize what their posh link is about, either through the community they posted or relevant to their content. This will be something we'll enforce over time in the channel once we decide to make the life easier for the curators so they can focus on the posts they specialize in when curating #posh.

Other than that the compilation post will work very similar to the other ones. One daily editor, curators drop their selections of the day in a channel as long as they haven't been overcurated already or already nominated by another community in our incubation. They'll get the rest of the rewards depending on the amount of nominations that were picked for that day's compilation post. Then the posts receive curation by the OCD accounts and trails.

We're hoping that by adding a lot of different requirements, some hidden, some public, it will get people to also care about "curating" each others twitter links. We realize many just tweet the same way as they drop post links in other discord servers, in hopes for a quick curation and post rewards while they ignore engaging, liking and retweeting other people's links which causes them to not get any attention/visibility and barely any traffic back to the front-ends. This will hopefully get them to follow more Hivers on Twitter as well and sort of mirror the ones they also follow on Hive so there's engagement and activity on both platforms for the end goal to make more noise and show nocoiners and cryptotwitter what they're missing out on by not being on Hive.

Let's see how this goes!
