How A Shift in Mindset Changed My Life

More and more studies are coming out showing the power of mind over matter.

I would like to see "low income minds matter" rather than "black lives matter" as a movement. When you acknowledge mind over matter, you are putting your destiny in your own hands rather than promoting the toxic victim mentality that keeps people down. Dogma and fear can never solve any problems, but mindfulness is power.
For the low income minds matter movement, we would give out The Power of Broke by Daymond John in inner city public schools, partner poor kids with self-made millionaire mentors, and create a foundation that is a cross between Thiel Fellowship and QuestBridge, where you give smart, motivated, poor kids an opportunity to start their own business rather than going to college. This would take power out of the hands of white liberals who continue to patronize you and try to speak for you, while promoting grassroots self-actualization and antifragility.

When you create this foundation of self-made success, the cultural prejudices would change, and in turn, the police brutality would also disappear. Complaining does not solve the problem. Culture is just aggregated mindsets; it isn't something to be blindly celebrating. Some negative mindsets are very contagious, and we must take action to get rid of them.

Black lives matter started out as an observation of the cognitive biases of cops when dealing with black people and it is a legitimate concern. However, the movement was based on ignorance, hate, and fear rather than finding a solution to actually efficiently help poor black people. The movement is probably promoting more racism rather than improving people's lives. There are too many selfish, egotistical people who are simply virtue signalling without having any skin in the game (pretentious white liberals). The goal should be creating a platform that allows underprivileged people to build up their own communities without being manipulated by corrupt political elites.

Ben Carson understood this and I am very grateful for being a Carson Scholar. His religious ideas are too crazy for my liking, but this is something he got correct. This is a merit and community service based scholarship for kids in poor neighborhoods and receiving it in elementary school was one of the defining moments of my childhood that motivated me in my intellectual pursuits. It was a huge mindset changer. I stopped feeling like a victim of bullying/racism and started to believed that if I could put my mind to it, I could achieve anything. Now if only he'd start rewarding people in Bitcoins and remove the condition of going to college.
