Carnivine

carnivire_screenshot.PNG

This Carnivine is not a great attacker. The first attack heals only and the second attack costs too much Energy to do not so much damage.

Mow Rotom

mow_rotom.PNG

Mow Rotom looks somewhat useable. Any attack that does 30 damage for one colourless Energy is pretty good. The additional effect is that you discard Pokemon Tool cards and any Special Energy cards on the opponent's Active Pokemon. This could be a hard counter to Lugia decks and decks that are heavy on Tool cards.

Gossifleur & Eldegoss

gossifleur_eldegoss.PNG

Gossifleur is an okay Basic Pokemon with 60 HP and a low cost attack that can do up to 20 damage. Nothing too crazy.

Eldegoss is somewhat interesting. The first attack is an escape attack where you shuffle this card and attached cards into your deck and then you search for up to 3 cards and put them into your hand. You would need to send a new Pokemon into your active spot. A major drawback is the popular supporter card Iono.

Turtonator

turtonator_screenshot.PNG

Even with the Magma Basin Stadium card, this Turtonator is not good. The Energy costs on its attacks are too much for somewhat little damage. Not a good card.

Finneon & Lumineon

finneon_lumineon.PNG

Finneon is okay for a Basic Pokemon. For one Water Energy you do 20 damage. The HP is kind of weak at 50HP.

Lumineon has two attacks. The first attack costs one Colourless Energy to do 20 damage plus draw cards until 6 cards in hand. Its second attack does 70 damage for one Water Energy & one Colourless Energy. This Lumineon is okay. A major weakness with Water Pokemon is the lack of Energy acceleration outside of Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR.

Electabuzz & Electivire

electabuzz_electivire.PNG

Electabuzz is okay as you can draw one card from its first attack. The Electivire is kind of interesting. For two Lightning Energy you can do 220 damage with the drawback of any of your Pokemon cannot attack the next turn. I don't know if any new Pokemon in play the next turn can attack.

Electivire being able to one hit knockout most basic Pokemon Vs and basic Pokemon exs with 220 HP or less is something too good to ignore. I think this can see some play.

Chinchou & Lanturn

chinchou_lanturn.PNG

Chinchou is not great as the attack requires two Colourless energy. The Lanturn can be pretty annoying as Perplexing Flash causes confusion. Instead of 3 damage counters if you flip tails from confusion it is 8 damage counters.

Comfey

comfey_screenshot.PNG

This Comfey is not good. Why give your opponent more cards even though you get 3 more cards. The second attack is not good either even though you can do up to 40 damage for one Psychic energy.

Milcery & Alcremie

milcery_alcremie.PNG

Milcery is a Basic Pokemon with 60 HP with a low cost attack that does 20 damage.

Alcremie is a Stage 1 110HP Pokemon that evolves from Milcery. The first attack of Colourful Sweets has a powerful Pokemon search
that has same type of the Basic Energy attached to Alcremie. You can choose up to 5 Pokemon and put them into your hand. One obvious drawback is the heavy presence of Iono.

Cubone & Marowak

cubone_marowak.PNG

Cubone is a 70HP Fighting Pokemon with one retreat cost. Its Reckless Charge costs one Fighting Energy and does 30 damage and 10 damage to itself. One energy cost with 30 damage attacks can be helpful sometimes.

Marowak is a Stage 1 120 HP Pokemon that evolves from Cubone. The first attack of Growl is not great. It is the second attack that I think is interesting. If any of your Benched Cubone have damage counters then the Bone Revenge attack does 60 damage plus 120 more damage. Doing 180 damage is not bad and you can use the weakness advantage to knockout Pokemon like Iron Hands ex and any popular Pokemon with Fighting weakness.

I think Marowak goes well in a Hisuian Zoroark deck as it runs Gapejaw Bog.

Rhyhorn, Rhydon & Rhyperior

rhyhorn_rhydon.PNG

Rhyhorn and Rhydon are not good in my opinion. The retreat costs are too high and the attacks cost too much energy.

rhyperior.PNG

Rhyperior is a 200HP Stage 2 Pokemon that evolves from Rhydon. The attack of Drill Run does cost one Fighting Energy and two Colourless Energy to do 180 damage plus discard an Energy from your opponent's Active Pokemon.

The ability of Wide Wall is a good defensive ability. If Rhyperior is in the Active Spot and the opponent plays a Supporter card from their hand you can prevent all effects of that card done to your Pokemon in play. One card that comes to mind that the ability stops is Boss's Orders.

Meditite & Medicham ex

Meditite

meditite.PNG

This Meditite is a 70 HP Fighting Basic Pokemon with one retreat cost. Calm Mind is not great as you heal 20 damage which is not much. The second attack of Chop costs too much energy to do 50 damage.

I think this Meditite is better as it has Yoga Guard to prevent attacks onto the Bench. Use this Psychic Meditite for setup until you get Medicham ex.

Medicham ex

medicham_ex.PNG

Medicham ex is one of those cards where you are not sure how this could play out comeptitively. Looking at it I think it is an okay attacker. The first ttack fo Chi Pressure requires two Colourless Energy. This is good with Double Turbo Energy. The Chi Pressure attack has an effect where you put damage counters on the opponent's Active Pokemon until the remaining HP is 50.

The second attack is Yoga Kick which requires one Fighting Energy and two Colourless Energy. It does 190 damage and it is not affected by Weakness or Resistance. In theory you can do Chi Pressure to reduce a Pokemon's HP to 50 and then Yoga Kick the next turn.

My issue with Medicham ex is that you do not have Double Turbo Energy available then you cannot really use its attacks. There is also no one hit Knockout potential. If you use Chi Pressure the opponent could switch out with a different attacker with the Item Card Switch.

Mienfoo & Mienshao

meinfoo_mienshao.PNG

Mienfoo is a 60 HP Basic Fighting Pokemon. The attack of Knock Off does not do much at 10 damage but the effect is kind of annoying. With Knock Off you discard one random card in your opponent's hand.

I am not sure if someone will try a hand control deck based on Mienfoo. You can trap an opponent's non attacking Pokemon with no energy and just use Mienfoo's Knock Off to deal damage slowly and discard cards from the hand. A lock based deck??

Mienshao is a Stage 1 90HP Fighting Pokemon with one retreat cost and Psychic Energy. The Gale Spin attack requires one Fighting Energy to do a base damage of 30. If the opponent has 5 or fewer cards in their hand then Gale Spin does 90 damage instead. Combo this with Hand Trimmer or Xerosic's Scheme to meet the 5 or less cards in hand and get the 90 damage in.

Pancham & Pangoro

pancham.PNG

Pancham is a Basic 70HP Fighting Pokemon with two retreat cost and Psychic weakness. Both are the attacks are not great. You need Pancham in order to evolve into Pangoro.

pangoro.PNG

Pangoro is a 140 HP Stage 1 Dark Pokemon that evolves from Pancham. There are a few instances like this one where the Basic Pokemon type is different that the evolution type. The first attack of Pull does not do damage but switches one of the opponent's Pokemon into the Active Spot (like the supporter card Boss's Orders). Tantrum does 160 damage with the drawback of Pangoro confusing itself. The energy cost is two Dark Energy and one Colourless Energy.

Diancie

diancie_screenshot.PNG

Diancie a 110 HP Basic Fighting Pokemon with one Retreat cost and Grass weakness. The second attack of Power Gem does 60 damage for one Fighting Energy and one Colourless Energy. Diancie's first attack of Special Refraction which makes Diancie somewhat useable.

The Special Refraction attack does 40 damage times the number of Special Energy cards attached to your opponent's Pokemon. It feels like this card was made to counter Lugia VStar decks. More specifically Diancie would be a hard counter to Cinccino and Snorlax.

Falinks

falinks.PNG

This Falinks could be a bit better. I like the first attack of Link Formation. Link Formation is like the Call For Family attack where you can search your deck for up to 2 Pokemon and put them onto your Bench.

The second attack has a base damage of 30. If you have used the Link Formation attack in the previous turn then this Simultaneous Attack damage does 120 damage instead. Attacks that depend on a previous turn attack are generally not popular as it is slow.

Gulpin & Swalot

gulpin.PNG

Gulpin

Gulpin is a Basic 70HP Dark Pokemon with two retreat cost and Fighting weakness. Both of the attacks are not great given their Energy costs and damage output.

Swalot

swalot.PNG

Swalot is a Stage 1 130HP Pokemon that evolves from Gulpin. The second attack of Venomous Hit does 100 damage plus Poison for the cost of two Dark Energy and one Colourless Energy.

The first attack of Gulp Down is interesting. The base damage is pretty low at 10 damage. If Swalot has more Energy attached than the opponent's Active Pokemon then Gulp Down does 170 damage. This 170 damage is very good against Mew ex (hit for Weakness), Squawukabilly ex and Lumineon V.

You can also use Reversal Energy on Swalot as Swalot is a non-rule box Pokemon and if you are behind on Prize cards. This Swalot would be an interesting rogue attacker. I don't see this being in a meta deck but it can be decent surprise attacker.

Impidimp, Morgem & Grimmsnarl

impidimp_morgen_screenshot.PNG

Impidimp & Morgem are not great attackers as the Energy costs are high. You could use Dark Patch and Janine's Secret Technique to help with Energy acceleration.

Grimmsnarl's first attack is kind of interesting as you target an opponent's Pokemon on the Bench and then do 160 damage.

Grimmsnarl

grimmsnarl.PNG

Grimmsnarl's first attack is kind of interesting as you target an opponent's Pokemon on the Bench and then do 160 damage. This would do a one hit knockout on a Squawkabilly ex that has 160 HP or a Mew ex that is Psychic and 180 HP. This is a stage 2 Pokemon so it is difficult to put into play.

Glammeow & Purugly

glameow_purrugly.PNG

Glameow is okay and Purugly can be annoying if you get Heads on the Nyan Roll attack. If heads then you can prevent damage and effects of attacks done to Purugly during the opponent's next turn.

Payapa Berry

payapa_berry.PNG

Payapa Berry is a Tool card with a Defensive effect. The Pokemon that has this tool card attached takes 60 less damage from Psychic Pokemon. Once the Pokemon is attacked by the Psychic Pokemon this card is discarded.

I am not a big fan of passive defensive abilities like this. The opponent could work around this card and this card is useless if the opponent does not play Psychic Pokemon.

Occa Berry

occa_berry.PNG

Occa Berry is like Payapa Berry but it for reducing damage from Fire Pokemon. This one is worse than Payapa Berry as Fire Pokemon are not popular in the competitive metagame. Payapa Berry could be okay as Gardevoir ex decks are popular, Fire Pokemon not so much.
