Dream Fever
pastels retired
put to bed
the fire doused in violet blue
indigo burns hotter
but goes almost unnoticed
an inky blanket contains the heat
contrast is needed for recognition
and not so much innate ability
whisper me
your savage ghost stories
on this gentle night
the stars will nurse
countless campfires
we will demonize
your anxieties
unsettled
psychic terrors
give them character
imaginary depth
eyes of blue
locks of black
we will re-engineer
a paper moon
into a rocket ship
launch our monsters
to live in the stars
where perspective
time/space
transforms them to angels
signposts for the universe
to show how far we've come
missteps
speckle pulsars
on the path
dream fevers
defeat the absolute
whisper me a ghost story
