Carpet Bag
mismatched rags
disintegrating beauty
skin threadbare
snagged and soiled
once was a flower
in full bloom
clay pot
inhabitant
deeply-rooted
cooled and soothed
sheltered under a glass waterfall
celebrated and adored
granted high vantage point
winter sun
summer shade
copious nutrients
a refusal
to be moved
roots crowd
heat and humidity
mount a micro-biome invasion
there goes the neighbourhood
terra-tied lignin
fractals impacted
sky-bound tendrils stunted
too much material
warp speed decay
not enough time
to exfoliate the detritus
adapt to the AI urbanization
an earthen vessel cracks
crumbles and dissolves
petals wilted
but not-yet faded
mind as strong as ever
clutching onto to colour
a locus of life
now a carpet bag
tapis valise
for insect bones and seeds
death and possibility
