A poem describing Cassandra's thoughts as she stares at the swinging pendulum during her wait for Cattrell to visit.
Tones reveal my soul.
Vibrations weave
the song of life
that meters present
or future.
Oscillations in
my fourth harmonic
lead to joyous rhapsody.
And, fear
the dirge
a lifeless plunge
cured by null
but timpani.
If love is carried
over waves,
and should the people
gather close --
The music of
my lifetime, I hope
shall sing a song,
a soul.
