Howdy Partners!

I said that once I moved into a house that I would take more time to post on Hive. So last weekend I finally moved into a house. One that has been standing since the 1700s.

To some people this old farm house may be rustic and unappealing, but to me it is a place of peace and possibilities. It is true that is has some flaws, but I see nothing but potential.

The house has three bedrooms upstairs, two full baths, a living room, kitchen, and a basement. It sets on 9 acres of land on a dead end street. More than I need, and exactly what I wanted.

Although living in a community has many perks, I prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle. I will miss being 3 minutes away from the shops, but I am willing to commute in order to have this fabulous view.

I am having a hard time staying in the house, because all I want to do is sit on the porch and watch the wildlife.

There are lots of birds, bunnies, squirrels, and groundhogs. I think the groundhogs are cute, but they are destructive to the land, so I plan to plant some Lavender plants to deter them from the other buildings.

I was able to get internet with T-Mobile. I was weary at first, but it seems to be working fine. And, it is a lot better price than what I was paying in the city for the bundle package.

That's the first thing I did, before I even moved in.

I was in a hurry to move before my surgery in June. My lease on my apartment was up on June first, so the timing couldn't be more perfect.

I met the woman, who lived here with her husband for 28 years, at church when I first came back to Pittsburgh. I didn't have a job, and was pretty depressed about it, and she offered to pay me to come by and help her around the house.

She and her husband lived here alone. He had Dementia and then he passed away. Her son and daughter in-law renovated the kitchen for her.

By the Grace of God, her son and daughter in-law found a house nearby that they were going to flip, but that she loved, and wanted for herself.

After they fixed up the house, she moved in, and this place became vacant. That's how I ended up renting it from them.

They plan to one day tear down this house and build their own home on the land. But, in the meantime, this is where I get to play house!

And that's just fine with me!

Until next time,

Happy Gaming!
