Exploring Sanibel Island

Last day before flying away from the states... We drove back down to southern Florida to the Fort Myers where we spent the last night also. Before that, we decided to go to Sanibel Island and see what we can see there. To get to the island, toll booth charged us 6 dollars. If that 6 dollars isn't already enough, parking anywhere on a public lot on this island costs 5 dollars per hour. If you are planning to spend a whole day there, well it gets pretty expensive. I arrived around a mid-day and spent only 2 hours in the public lots.

First I went to see a little fishing pier and a light tower that has been abandoned for some time now.

The swimming beach was pretty crowded. I didn't spend much time there since I'm not a fan of crowds. Only took these couple of shots for memories.

These boardwalks reminded me a bit of Everglades because nature and the boardwalks were pretty much the same.

It was just a short hike through the areas worth seeing. After that we drove to the Captiva Island the see the last sunset in Florida but this I will leave to another post.
