Last time I showed you where the Popo Agie (poe-POE-zhuh) River sinks into a tunnel to flow underground for the next quarter of a mile. Of all the thoughts and images I had in my head of what it would look like in the Rise, none of them were even close to the reality...
That's it!
Okay, that was a real surprise and surprisingly unimpressive.
There's more than one spot where the water flows back out, but this picture was (honestly) the most impressive of them.
Some of the local wildlife below the platform where you look at the Rise.
The fish don't look terribly impressive until you see the picture next to the one of the ducks - only a few feet downstream - photo taken from the same platform. Yeah, those fish are pretty big - and not available for dinner!
And looking further down the canyon, still standing in the same place.
