for flame-painted ladies
handsy geriatric clowns
has dampened
a dry wit is wasted
on this rowdy crowd
but they do get aroused
by a hot fire cracker
burn
the big top
down
roast the barkers
char the lion tamers
let loose the big cats
liberate wizened pachyderms
set free beast of burdens
replume
clipped birds
with quill and tephra
so they may elevate
charter, scroll, and script
beyond the gritty clutches
of old hackneyed
carnies
strike and flint
torch the marquee
incineration will obliterate
any lingering reek and refuse
burn this circus down
You'd think with space at least they could allow authenticity some air. People love space and space exploration and despite it being a burgeoning industry, the majority of people involved are in it for the wonder of exploration. But then the space race has been used before to build up heightened patriotism whilst politicians got on with dividing up the world.
They overshot with the whole alien thing ... few bought it . I am thankful for how savvy people are becoming, including our children. Nice work, humanity, seeing through the propaganda and facade.
Settle for the Land
tumble weed
waving sheath of wheat
twirling parachute pod
roll with the breeze
sway in the wind
fall from the gale
ripped up at the root
carried away
upon savage gusts
destination decided
without sentiment
at the mercy of the merciless
prairie whirligigs, lazy zephyrs
and sea bound mistral
up the spiral
thrown, tossed
to the four corners
travel far or near
settle for the land
that catches your fall
