Hi there Steemians! This post is about my trip to Triund, also known as the crown of Dharamshala. Triund is situated at 2850m of elevation and offers some of the best views of the Dholadhar mountains and the Kangra valley.
The trek can be directly started from McLeodganj or from Galu, a place 5-6 km above McLeodganj. This trek is an easy hike for 5kms and a bit difficult trekking for the last kilometer.
The snap below is taken at Galu, the place from where the trek starts.
After hiking for some time as we gain height, we can see McLeodganj and Dharamshala from above. The picture below shows the amazing view of the towns below us. The towns are surrounded by thick density jungles of pine and deodar trees.
There are some dangerous spots which we need to cross to reach Triund top. Here is a picture of one of those. One needs to be extra careful while crossing those spots otherwise can get badly screwed.
This is one of the famous chai shops that one encounters while going towards the Triund top one can take some rest here and get refreshed. The view is indeed magical from here.
After hiking for another kilometer and a half, we reached the snowline. The difficulty of trek increased as we had to trek through the snow but it was fun walking on the fresh snow.
The weather was clear and pleasant. The inclusion of snow with the sunny weather was an amazing blend. The pine and deodar trees added to the beauty of the scene.
We climbed through the rocks, snow and the ferroucious mountains to reach the top. Now it was our time to enjoy the view after two and a half hours of trekking. The view we saw can only be discibed by a single word, HEAVEN.
The magistic Dholadhar range covered with snow, meadows of the Kangra valley, amazing weather and amazing people. It was our time to enjoy the moment.
There were camps on the top for staying at night but we had to return to Dharamshala. We enjoyed for 3 hours and returned back to McLeadganj. It was indeed a trip to heaven.
