The Light Show [ MyPictureDay at the Marina Bay ]

A while ago, I was out for MyPictureDay and this is my 4th participation in a row. I've been on it for the whole month since January. Right now, I don't see it as a contest anymore, I'm already considering it as part of my lifestyle and a weekly commitment. For this night, I was motivated by the good weather that we are having the whole day and I don't want to put it into waste.

For this whole week, I didn't have any idea on what to do on this #mypictureday. Clueless of what to discover, I instinctively decided to go to Marina Bay. It's my saving grace whenever I'm having a creative block, why? It's because of the Light show that happens every night. This gave me the assurance that I will always have something to interest you, my Steemit friends.

The newly built Jubilee bridge (on the left) is designed to link the Merlion park to the waterfront promenade in front of the Esplanade.

The show starts at 8pm, the duration is about 15mins that will be repeated at 9:30pm and 11pm. Since it starts a bit late, I decided to went to the location early to catch a glimpse of the "blue hour". Luckily, I arrived just in time.

Fun fact 01: The Sands hotel was designed by Moshe Safdie, who says that the building was inspired by deck of cards. Which is related to its function, aside from the 2,500 hotel rooms, it also house a 15,000 square meter casino which is the maximum allowed area by the law.

Esplanade Theaters with its durian shape inspired design

Fun fact 02: Did you know that the design of Esplanade theaters are first inspired by loaves of bread, marshmallow, and other tropical fruit until it was finalized to resemble "Durian" a popular fruit consumed here in Singapore.

The Marina Bay is popular for tourists and expats alike especially during the weekends. It's buzzing with activities and tourists are passing-by for a quick picture session at the famous Sands hotel.

The streak of light at the bottom of the picture is from a River Cruise, tirelessly touring the visitors along the Singapore River. If you happen to visit Singapore, this is a must try. It will bring you around the Marina Bay, Promenade area, Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, and the famous Merlion Park.

After strolling around the area, it's almost time for the Light show and so I went to the picture deck to secure my spot. The Light show is best experienced on the side of Marina Square (shopping mall attached to Sands hotel) but for tonight, I will show you the light beams that the Sands hotel will display. As much as I want to split myself to show you both views of the show, I'd rather not, but take my word I will show it to you on the following round of MyPictureDay. Here are few of the snapshots enjoy!

The show is also accompanied by an exciting music that go along with the movement of the light beams. Even though I'm at the other end of the bay, I can still hear the music. I really enjoy this show even though this is my nth time to see it.

So, that's about it for MyPictureDay for this week. I hope you enjoyed strolling with me, my Steemit friends. And I wish that you are having a great time on your weekend. Let me know how are you spending your weekend right now. Keep in touch!

I hope you are all well.

Have an awesome day / night everyone!
