It's been a while since I last wrote something here, I don't post photos so often anymore... but above all it's been a long time since I took some time for myself and my shots. The other day I came across a bunch of photos that were buried in a memory of my battlefield Nikon D3200.
These were shots dating back to a weekend in September 2020 in Terracina, my beloved place where my family has a beach house.
There were a lot of shots, mostly not worthy, because in low light the D3200 can't give its best.
Despite this I tried to save some shots by postproducing them a little bit, I hope you like them.
The historic center of Terracina has always fascinated me. In particular, here you can see the facade with a focus on the bell tower of the Cathedral of Terracina . called the concathedral of San Cesareo, martyr of the second century.
The church was built during 1500 from the remains of a Roman temple. In fact, in Terracina ancient Roman art and medieval art are perfectly amalgamated in a particularly fascinating and unique combination, since the town is hung on a promontory from which the view is always breathtaking... an intertwining of nature, art and pure life.
Here a couple of shots of two of my dearest friends. The most interesting shot is the next one though, because this little face here is nothing special - maybe just bizarre!
Here we were right on top of Mount Sant'Angelo, more commonly known as Monte Giove, just below the famous Roman temple of Jupiter Anxur .
It is the most loved place by those who know Terracina: you can see the whole gulf up to Punta Rossa, to Circeo. And the effect is just great with night lights. Or not? Pure magic, one of those views that will never tire me. I have been coming there since I was a child and every time it is like the first.
During the night I remember that we made "the shotgun": we moved with the cars and went to get the cream bombs and chocolate bombs (krapfen) with Casa Del Dolce , a special pastry shop that I recommend you try if you are in the San Felice Circeo area. After that we went up again, but on the opposite side with respect to Monte Giove. We drove up to the Monte Circeo towards the Punta Rossa Lighthouse , because from there, precisely from the pitch in via del Sole, you can glimpse the Milky Way. But before that, we passed along a panoramic road along the coast... and from there, we were very lucky: we witnessed the spectacle of the rising moon. It was a single small segment of fiery red color, which rose from behind the mountain of Terracina that we had left behind right before. Here too, is it or not a great show?! My D3200 doesn't give it enough justice, especially since the gulf is just as beautiful on this side of the coast. In fact, from Circeo you can see the lights of the seaside resorts that are far beyond Terracina: Sperlonga, Gaeta...
In addition, being the Circeo much closer to the Pontine Islands than Terracina, from Punta Rossa you can see the lights of the Island of Ponza , which unfortunately I did not photograph that time.
Ok, here I wanted to dare: how did I expect to take the photo of the Milky Way with a D3200 and a 16-85mm?!... mah! At least I managed to take some decent pics of the stars; here a pick full of dots of light, taken with a never-ending exposure, placing the camera on the roof of the car ... AWFUL! 🤣
But on the other hand I was there to enjoy a few days of holiday with my friends, I had no intention of working. So I hope my photos have been satisfying enough to you...
...though, stay tuned because I will pull some new rabbits out the hat! I promise!

E' da un po' che non scrivo, non posto foto... ma soprattutto è da un bel po' che non mi prendo un po' di tempo per me e i miei scatti. L'altro giorno ho ritirato fuori delle foto che erano sepolte in una memory della mia D3200 da battaglia.
Si trattava di scatti risalenti ad un weekend di settembre 2020 in quel di Terracina, la mia amata località dove la mia famiglia ha una casa al mare.
C'erano tanti scatti, per lo più da buttare, perché con poca luce la D3200 non riesce a dare il massimo.
Nonostante ciò ho provato a salvare qualche scatto, spero vi piacciano.
Il centro storico di Terracina mi ha sempre affascinata. In particolare qui potete vedere la facciata con focus sul campanile del duomo di Terracina. denominata concattedrale di San Cesareo. martire del II secolo.
La chiesa è stata edificata durante il 1500 dai resti di un tempio romano. A Terracina infatti arte antica romana e arte medievale sono perfetttamente amalgamate in un connubio particolarmente affascinante, unico, poiché appeso su un promontorio da cui la vista è sempre mozzafiato... un intreccio di natura, arte e vita pura.
Qui un paio di scatti di due miei carissimi amici. Lo scatto più interessante è il successivo però, perché questa faccetta qui non è niente di che 🤣 forse solo bizzarra!
Qui eravamo proprio in cima al monte Sant'Angelo, più comunemnte noto come Monte Giove, poco sotto il famoso tempio romano di Giove Anxur.
E' il posto più amato da chi conosce Terracina: si vede tutto il golfo fino a Punta Rossa, al Circeo. E l'effetto è semplicemente magnifico con le luci notturne. O no? Magia pura, una di quelle viste che non mi stancheranno mai. Ci vengo da quando sono bambina ed ogni volta è come fosse la prima.
Durante la notte ricordo che abbiamo fatto la doppietta: ci siamo spostati con le macchine e siamo andati a prendere le bombe alla crema e al cioccolato alla Casa Del Dolce, pasticceria speciale che vi raccomando di provare se vi trovate in zona San Felice Circeo. Dopodiché siamo saliti di nuovo di altitutine, ma dalla parte opposta rispetto a Monte Giove. Siamo saliti sul Monte Circeo verso il Faro di Punta Rossa, perché da lì, precisamente dalla piazzola in via del Sole, si riesce ad intravedere la via Lattea. Ma prima di ciò, si passa lungo una strada panoramica lungo la costa... e da lì, siamo stati fortunatissimi: abbiamo assisituto allo spettacolo della Luna che sorgeva. Era un solo piccolo spicchio di colore rosso fuoco, che saliva da dietro la montagna di Terracina che ci eravamo lasciati da poco alle spalle. Anche qui, è uno spettacolo oppure NO?! La mia D3200 non le rende giustizia abbastanza, soprattutto perché il golfo è altrettanto meraviglioso da questa parte della costa. Infatti dal Circeo si vedono le luci delle località di mare che si trovano ben oltre Terracina: Sperlonga, Gaeta...
In più, essendo il Circeo molto più vicino alle Isole Pontine rispetto a Terracina, da Punta Rossa si vedono le luci dell'Isola di Ponza, che purtroppo non ho immortalato quella volta.
Ok, qui ho voluto strafare: come pretendevo di fare la foto alla via Lattea con una D3200 montando un 16-85mm... mah! Fatto sta che qualcuno puntino di luce sono riuscita a prenderlo, con un'esposizione infinita, poggiando la camera sul tettuccio dell'auto... PESSIMA! 🤣
Ma d'altronde ero lì per godermi qualche giorno di vacanza con i miei amici, non avevo alcuna intenzione di lavorare. Perciò spero che le mie foto siano state abbastanza soddisfacenti...
...restate connessi perché tirerò fuori dal cilindro qualcosa di più stupefacente! Promesso!
