Yesterday I had the chance to see a project started last year completed. Our neighbor has some pear 🍐 trees in the garden and last year I saw some bottles hanging from the tree. I knew exactly what was going on but was still surprised as I've only seen the final products in the liquor store and never the process.
This is the final product, pear brandy all homemade. I don't drink because don't really like alcohol but this is so cool.
All you have to do is hang the bottle on the tree with the little fruit inside and make sure don't get too much sunlight as the glass of the bottle can act like a magnifying glass and burn the pear in case the sun is too strong.
Then when the peach is big enough, take it down, fill the bottle with brandy and let it nature.
The guy says this year he needs to take the bottles down earlier before the pears turn brown to look better.
I've never tasted the brandy and don't think I ever will but still looks good and interesting.
