Photography and nature

New York Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY is unlike any event I covered as a photojournalist.
It's an huge outdoor event with thousands of fiber seekers, looking to either purchase an animal for it's fleece or a variety of spun products,

to be used to create garments, crafts etc.

I also found that the owners of the animals had a strong bond with their animals.

The cool part of taking pictures at this event is you don't have to ask permission to the animal to take a photo. They are corporative and slow moving so their movements are predictable.

In there were so many ways to capture the spirt of these animals, but the best approach was just let them be and walk into the lens frame, and click.

I love the way the sun naturally bounce or absorb on their coat for a unique visible appealing shooting experience.

People that were showing their animals for purchase treated them as family members.
This event taught me to show kindness to all beings

Sometimes you might get resistance but being kind in hard situations is hard but good for you.

There was a dog and his owner doing some aerial tricks

So It required a different speed on my settings to capture the dog tricks, but you get the point.

Overall I enjoyed the chance to get these shots and be reminded at this event that humans, us people, aren't the center of the universe.
