Traveling Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) continues, with a new Disney adventure, the Pirates of the Caribbean brand. The fascinating story is full of suspense, action and the characteristic humor of the beloved captain, and Salazar's revenge (Javier Bardem) is perhaps the most dreaded threat Sparrow has ever faced.

After 14 years of "The Black Pearl Curse", the first film in the famous Pirates of the Caribbean series, and 6 years after "On the Waters and the Broken", producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney decided to build the 5th movie "Pirates of the Caribbean". They wanted a new story to bring adventures forward, but to keep elements of fantasy, action, comedy that made this series a success.
Screenwriter Jeff Nathanson confesses: "I am a great fan of this franchise, and I have a great respect for what those before me have created. This universe of pirates is so vast and rich, and there are many talented artists both in front of and behind the cameras, people who work hard to bring it to life. I felt that my duty as a new screenwriter to enter this family was to honor the spirit of the film, coming up with something new, something that the new generation could do. "

While Nathanson was busy bringing the new adventure to life, the search for another director was in full swing. What nobody predicted was that they would not find a single director, but two, not Hollywood, but thousands of miles away from Norway: Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. Well, they have their pirates, but they are called Vikings.
Jerry Bruckheimer says about his choice: "When you work with young directors nominated for American Film Academy awards, who are energetic and eager to work, they come up with another approach and bring a new breath to a story that has been reported by four times before. And that's what we wanted. I wanted to come armed with creativity and make this film something special and fresh. " 
Johnny Depp returns to character Jack Sparrow and reflects on the things that make the captain so popular with the audience: "I think the world loves Jack and his irreverence, which is more of a sort of innocence. It's a kind of purity that comes from saying everything he thinks. Perhaps he realizes that he speaks with a little delay, because he is a little bit vile, but he assumes this. I think people initially responded positively because they saw a guy who could do whatever he wanted to do, except that Jack did not feel anything and did not bear any consequences. "
