Shoreline Helen Lake

DSC06390.jpeg

Ok, time for some shoreline photos. This particular shoreline has an interesting “wiggle” to it. For some reason, this area reminds me of Iceland, or some place cold like that. This was the end reward view for today’s hiking trip. It took approximately two hours or so to get here. All in all, I would rate this hike at about moderate, in terms of ability level. Elevation gain is about 455 metres or 1,492 feet. The trailhead is located just off the 93 North highway, also know as the Icefields Parkway. This is approximately thirty minutes north of Lake Louise. It is slightly off the beaten path, not crazy busy like Lake Louise, but still a relatively popular hike. On this particular day, I was surprised to see the parking lot virtually full, even on a mediocre day weather wise.
