Vintage Photos - eBay Set #1 (161-164)

See the previous post in this series here.

I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.

This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch I was working on. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in many of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.

None of the photos in this batch are dated but they are almost certainly from the mid to late 1960s based on all the other photos in this set. The first shows the couple featured throughout many of the photos in this set. You can also see their version of the Internet on the bookshelf...

The second looks like it was taken at some kind of party. Given the color scheme I'm thinking St. Patrick's Day and from previous photos someone's birthday was celebrated on St. Patrick's Day as well.

The third photo is of a guy blowing out the candles on his Birthday cake. I can read the name this time too...Sonny. At least I think.

The last photo shows another birthday, this time a dual celebration. I can make out the ages from the candles but the names are harder. The guy's name looks like Jimmy or maybe Jhonny. The girl's name looks like it starts with a D and ends with an N but I can't make it out. The last letter could be a Y that's partially obscured by the icing...maybe Dotty? These two aren't a couple but maybe brother and sister?

The entire collection that has been scanned and uploaded so far can also be found here. This also includes higher resolution versions and versions with post processing.
