Monochrome photo for every day my personal photo challenge - 12/06/2023 - Issue - No.86
For me this is a challenge, but for you, it can be a simple and easy read, or it can become a competition which you can read about below.
Of course you can argue with me but I will express my opinion regarding actions that involve risk to your own life and risk to the lives of others.
As a rule those people who do this kind of thing are looking for some kind of justification for this and as a rule, call it a search for thrills getting a rush of adrenaline.
But is it worth it?
This is my purely personal opinion, but I think that if a person is looking for adventure on his ass then no matter how many dozens of languages he knows and how many universities he graduated from, for me he is nothing less than a fool if he cannot weigh the price of the thrill and the rest of his life that he may not have if something doesn’t go as originally planned.
Such thoughts come to me when I look at excursion balloons flying past in which gondolas ride enthusiastic onlookers who risked everything for the sake of several hours of being in a basket under a spherical pile of flammable nylon that lifts it all into the air in the presence of an open flame of a gas burner for work safety which I wouldn't bet a quarter of a cent on.
I know of only one truly justified case when people flew in a balloon for their own benefit and this case is described in Jules Verne’s book “The Mysterious Island.”
The heroes of the book saw the only way not to get caught in the guillotine and leave Paris engulfed in the revolution, this was to fly in a hot air balloon it was risky but it saved their lives which means it was a justified risk.

This should be any monochrome photographic work; it does not necessarily have to be black and white, sepia and other variations are welcome, and it can also be monochrome photo collages.
