Wave the Silks - Saturday night shooting

Suptle Light Painting Portrait

2021_lightpainting_silks_42_lr.jpg

Friends visiting the studio means often a quick explanation of what Light Painting is and how it works. This is one of those shoots that happen after dinner with people in the house. This is Agustin de Olarte a filmmaker and artist himself from Uruguay. I have the greatest respect for his work. Thank you for posing. 🙏 Let's create more art together.

The simplicity of the shot makes it so beautiful. What do you think?

How did we do that?

The light was applied first with a scanner that I always use. Then I lit the curtain-like silks he had in his hand waving left and right. The shimmer effect is what we were looking for. All that during the single exposure time of eleven seconds. The camera was set to F11 ISO 100 at 28mm on the 16-35mm F2.8 Lens.

I love the simplicity of the shot and the expression of Augustin. He almost looks like Jesus. I guess he knows.

Enjoy your Saturday.

Got any questions?
I am super happy to explain it in more detail if needed.
