The base was complete with the exception of a final report from the computer technical division. The report was due hours ago. Come to think of it. No one had seen the tech guy since, since no one could remember when. Some where sure he was on the new station other said he had returned.

A report of a shuttle absent and logged out to the computer tech, led to a search of the station getting launched. Communications should be up if tech had finished. Either tech was still at the station or a shuttle was missing.

Arriving at the station. A rope was clearly visible hanging from the docking bay. Evident also was the shuttle inside. The shuttle docked an a search of the newly formed station was carried out. No sign of the tech. But all communications seemed to be working.

Suspicions began to arise that the tech had tried to climb down for some reason and failed. Possible fell. Borg shuttles were used to perform a search down the mountain. The initial search brought no results. Requests for additional shuttles and scanning equipment were put in.

They scanned down the mountain expanding their search left and right to find and signs of a fall or reason why the tech guy would have climbed down.

The search went on for several days. Failing to see any evidence of foul play or of a fall. Conclusion came to be he had fallen and wild animals and carried off the body. Evidence of the exoskeleton should still have been found though. Work on the station was paused with respect and a memorial service would be held later that week.

During the search for the tech guy. recorded images showed various plants at different heights of the mountain. Some looked familiar or similar to those of text books they had studied and some even close to those of plants on board. Botanists wanted to get down and take samples of these.

A second station was begun at the base of the mountain. This area was mostly forested and needed clearing. The basics of a camp site could be up within a few days and suit the needs of the botanists. A second area would be cleared for the landing of shuttle and transport ship.

A survey/search group also made use of the new camp. One would search the immediate area for signs of the missing tech guy. The other group began surveys of the same area for flora and fauna.

As a precaution. All personnel returned to the main craft at the end of a shift. This would remain in place until more was known about the tech guy disappearance.
