Jeremiah 10:23
Lord, I know that the way man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Do you have any children who have left home?
Perhaps a willful and obstinate young man who left because he could not accept the restrictions of a Christian family? It is sad that this happens, very sad indeed, but do not despair nor distress for him. You do not know where he is, but God knows; you can not go after him, but the Holy Spirit can do it! He went to Shanghai? Ah, there may be a Paul in Shanghai whom God uses as a means to his salvation, and since that Paul is not here in London he had to go to Shanghai to find him. Are you going to Australia? Maybe someone there will say a word of blessing to your child that is the only one that reaches your heart. I can not say it, no one in London can; but the man who finds there will do it, and therefore God allows him to go away with all his obstinacy and foolishness so that grace can reach him and effect his salvation. The worst thing that can happen to a young man is sometimes the best thing that could happen to him.

Conozco, oh Jehová, que el hombre no es señor de su camino, ni del hombre que camina es el ordenar sus pasos.
¿Tienes algún hijo que haya abandonado el hogar?
¿Quizá un joven voluntarioso y obstinado que se fue porque no pudo aceptar las restricciones de una familia cristiana? Es triste que esto suceda, muyy triste en verdad, pero no te desesperes ni te angusties por él. No sabes donde está, pero Dios si lo sabe; no puedes ir tras él, pero el Espíritu Santo si puede hacerlo¡Se fue a Shangai? Ah, puede ser que haya un Pablo en Shangai a quien Dios use como un medio para su salvación, y ya que ese Pablo no está aquí en Londres tuvo que ir a Shangai a encontrarlo. ¿Se va a Australia? Quiza allí alguien le diga una palabra de bendición a tu hijo que sea la única que llegue a su corazón. Yo no puedo decirla, nadie en Londres puede; pero el hombre que encuentre allí lo hará y, por tanto, Dios permite que se vaya lejos con toda su obstinación y necedad para que la gracia pueda alcanzarlo y efectuar su salvación. Lo peor que puede pasarle a un joven es, a veces, lo mejor que le pudo suceder.
