Well with almost 95% Election Returns already transmitted to the transparency server, more or less we now have clear winners to this years Local and Senatorial Elections in the Philippines.
Personally, I am very disappointed but honestly not at all surprised with the results. If anything else, I think this election just proves how we Filipinos are gullible and susceptible to flowery words and one's popularity.
The mere fact that a senatorial candidate who was just recently acquitted after staying 4 years in prison for his plunder case is now currently rank at Top #10 speaks it all. Like seriously?!!!
Even that senatorial candidate's tv campaign ad was just him dancing for 23 seconds with the remaining 7 seconds reminding us what number his name is in the ballot. LOL Now compare that to other senatorial candidates who at least has the decency to highlight and/or brag about their past accomplishments.
Also, there are another two other senatorial candidates who were also recently acquitted for the same crime, and still managed to garner MILLIONS of votes!!!
There are also some technical issues that is worth talking about, one of which is how it nearly took 7 hours for the Commision of Elections to 'repair' their server issues and 'technical glitches'.
While I do understand that there is really no such thing as 100% prepared, but there is just too much many Vote Counting Machines and SD cards damaged on the day of election. Either they are shamelessly not prepared or someone is really manipulating the results behind the scene.
It kinda defeats the purpose of the whole 'transparency server' thing when the data was released in almost one go really if you ask me.
