Motherhood Monday #2

This is a weekly curation post to bring attention to some of the awesome #steemmoms we have in this great community we call Steemit.

Most of the posts you'll read about here come from the #steemmoms tag, but there are some from the #parenting tag as well. Our goal is to shine a light on moms and their beautiful stories of parenthood.

Teaching your children new things is a great experience, and when you find creative and interesting ways for your little ones to learn, you create lasting memories that will stick with you and your children for life. We have a bunch of moms talking about this, like @sweetpea, who built a worm farm with her son to teach him about nature. @johleen taught her children a new trick to folding clothes into "hotdogs", and now getting dressed in the morning is never a hassle!

How about when the morning routine doesn't matter as much, and your kids are home for Summer break? Summer can be a trying time for parents. When children are home from school, how do you keep them active and learning? @mummyimperfect is doing a pretty good job of that with things like trips to the local art gallery for some crafting!

Speaking of trying times, @tearsandtantrums explains why it's ok to not love every moment of being a parent. We like the way she isn't afraid to tell it how it is. Someone who also tells it how it is, @lifestylebyjeli has something to say to all the breastfeeding haters out there. Breastfeeding is a beautiful thing, and any mother who decides to do so is a saint in our book. We understand not every mother can, but those who do should never be shamed for it.

Every mother is different. As @onetree explains, she is not your typical mom, but loves her three children just the same, and says she needs them just as much as they need her. Some mommies have the amazing privilage of raising children birthed by another. @thesimplelife writes about her experiences with adopting, and wonders whether to change the names of her new family additions.

We love what we do as parents. We also love sharing the spotlight with other parents who take an active role in their children's development and ultimate happiness. Children are the most important thing we have as a species living on this planet. @thatsweeneyguy and I, @cryptomomma created @steemparents as a way to help parents all around the world come together and show support for one another. We all come from different walks of life, but the one thing we have in common is a desire to see our children grow into respectable, intelligent, and beloved individuals.

We started a Discord Chatroom for parents to gather and talk about all facets of raising little ones.
We would also like to request a chatroom or two for Steemit.chat. I'm not sure who moderates the site, but I don't seem to be able to create the rooms myself. We would like a general-chat and a post-promotion for parenting posts. There are many such rooms for other topics, and we believe parents deserve a spot 😉 If anyone reading this knows how we can make it happen, there will be a small reward for helping us see it through.

We are also looking for an official logo/avatar to represent our effort. We have a nice reward coming from our Fatherhood Friday post in a few days, and will be using it to contract a graphic artist to create something for us. Comment below if you might be interested in donating a logo to us 💖
