At one point in recent memory children had timeless benchmarks that regardless what decade it was a parent could measure the development of their child based on their age and know how they were progressing. It wasn't until I noticed a trend in children born around 2011. The first generation that was born into a fully functional information age with access to smart devices. Smart devices and bandwidth have been affordable to most every income level in the United States giving children of all social demographics a fair playing field of knowledge.
At age 9 after 5 years of custom tailoring information and having the added benefit of a childs ability to learn at a rapid rate, I'm noticing a generation that has left the toys in the toy box no longer playing imaginary my little pony's, and almost demanding the same material possessions as a 16 year old. 9 year olds are now as literal as adults and are communicating on social networks all over the world with the fully functional ability to communicate through Text, even though 9 year olds are still learning spelling, reading, and writing, in grade school.
This is uncharted territory for parents. I have no previous experience to even make a comparison. My only solution is to allow the freedom to continue growing and channel that young energy into a direction that will give them a competitive edge in the future spending their free time in a healthy online environment.
Opening a supervised Hive account for young children is not out of the question anymore. I was ready for this family conversation about a Hive Account to start in High School not gradeschool. With Hive your child has the ability to content create and share their work with friends and family. You will be shocked to know that 9 year olds already know how to create content on Hive, it's uncanny. The fact the system on Hive is Tokenized teaches young minds what value is. It teaches them that work,effort, and quality are valued. The ability to experience crypto finance and have their own savings account for college on the Hive Blockchain is an incredibly valuable experience. The knowledge of learning hands on managing their Hive tokens will prepare them for the future,including eventually learning about the "Hive Engine" where they can exchange their Hive for Hive pegged BTC,Doge,LTC, or the blockchains native Leo coins.
If you think that idea is too advanced for young children than I will tell you that the game Roblox which includes the buying,spending, and uploading of Roblox dollars,and than the open market including taking their new bought digital swag and than start uptrading with other players. Hive is technically equal to or as easy as the digital ecosystems that these kids have already mastered.
The hardest part of this is having to accept that we have an even shorter time to experience our children's early childhood. This has caught most of us off guard, and left wondering if they are the only ones having to deal with such an advanced knowledge at that early of an age. We are scrambling to address issues we were not prepared to deal with for another 5 or 6 years. You are not alone. We can all do our best to find constructive ways to keep young minds busy in healthy environments. As Hive gains mainstream adoption one of the biggest demographic's the blockchain never prepared for is about to arrive and join the community. Don't worry though we weren't ready for it either.
