Buying paint for the walls of my art studio

I have mentioned that we are building a studio/room for me at the new house and the time has come for me to choose paint for the walls!

Since it's going to be an art studio, it has to have a neutral wall color, but at the same time bright enough to be able to bounce off some natural light for me to be able to get the right colors for the canvas.

I want it to be white, but not pure white, you know? Pure white is too bright and it is blinding. I don't want it to be too "open" feeling as well, I want to have something warm, something that has a welcoming vibe but not really too warm that I'll feel sleepy all the time.

There are many shades of white and there are some things you have to consider before choosing. It's not as easy as choosing white! lol. First, I have to decide whether it's warm or cool tone of white. Too warm of a white will make the walls look dirty, but at the same time would look like a warm bedroom. Too cold, it will look kinda like a hospital and I don't want that.

I want a neutral one, something not too warm, not too cool but at the same time not too dark for a white. Sounds complicated? Yeah. lol.

Each brand has different shades which made it hard to choose. What's harder is that you actually have to choose a color that's available. Due to the COVID though, they ran out of stocks on most colors.

Most of the pre-mixed colors are out of stock so we were advised to just mix the colors at the counter (or whatever you call it). I chose a color here initially but apparently they don't have a gloss paint primer available so we had to choose from another brand. I wanted the Winter Morning from Davies brand. :/

Or the Tulle White... which is more to the cooler side but not too cool.

The other brand only has a few selection of colors though but that was the only choice for me. They don't even have lighter ones there, just those. T_T

The chosen color!

After debating with myself, I chose the Greek Villa which was more to the warm side. The one behind, Fragile Beauty, is the more neutral one but it was darker and I don't want that dark so I just went with the Greek Villa. That was their lightest shade so I got no other choice lol.

@Macchiata said it was a lovely choice... but when I got home, I was thinking about it the whole day. Haha! I mean, I can't go to the house to see the painting on the wall myself, so I'd have to wait til tomorrow cos they already painted it.

@Justineh told me that was also in one of her choices for her house and thinks it would look good. So I felt relieved! LOL. Yes it's gonna look gooooood! I just need to stop worrying if I made the right choice.

While they were mixing the paint in that cool machine, I just walked around the store to get any ideas what to buy next. XD Or just to look around cos I was bored.

That's it for now. Tomorrow we'll buy paint for the floor (over concrete) so we'll come back here and I will also go to the house and check the room out. I bet it looks lovely now! :D
