My wife and I are together for over 20 years and married for 12 years now. Since we both work often in different shifts, we decided we want to do something together on a day we both have not to work for our anniversary. We both love to get out in the nature and hike as a balance to our work. So I had the idea to go to a zipline tour which I did already a few years ago and I thought she would like it. She was on fire for that.
Eifel
The Eifel is an area with a lot of inactive volcanos, hills, woods and springs with good quality water. Many water companies are located there, selling the water not only in the Eifel. Gerolsteiner and Brohler are just two of the brands I know since I was a child. If you like hills and woods, hiking, biking and other outdoor activities, the Eifel is your place to go not only in the summer months. Also winter sports is popular. I have been there at many places and was hiking many tours, summer like winter.
Eifel Adventures
I bought tickets for the zipline tour from EifelAdventures.
They offer a variety of activities on there website and you can also stay in a hotel or holiday apartment there.
Our guide Elmar Sax and his family runs the whole EifelAdventures thing with hotel and apartments as I understood from talking to him. He is very nice and helpful. I will not go into detail what you all can do there. You should check the homepage.
Zipline-Tour Eifel
Can you imagine gliding over the treetops? This guided tour runs for 2,5h and includes a mini base jump, a bit climbing and the zipline of course. You are sitting in a safe belt system and glides along the steel cables up to 50m height over the trees. While the base jump is a bit scary and we both needed some time to jump, it is really safe and it is over as soon as you hang into it and slowly moves towards earth. But it gives you a adrenaline kick for sure if you are not used to these jumps or height at all. Elmar will be there all the time, explaining and helping so you feel safe.
