1. Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian freedom fighter who is known as Father of Nation because of the way he tried to achieve independence through non-violence.

He studied law and traveled to South Africa to practice as a lawyer.

Once the Indian freedom struggle started, he came back to India to participate in the same and he organized meetings among farmers, peasants and laborers to revolt the heavy tax which was incurred on them by British rulers.

He is famous for Dandi march against British for levying tax on salt and Quit India Movement against British to achieve Swaraj(own rule).

He was a influence to people like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa and other others.

2. Jana Novotná

Jana Novotná was an Czech Republic tennis player who was a winner of 17 grand slam titles.

She was known for her serve and volley game and won Wimbledon singles title in 1998.

She went on to win 12 grand slam doubles titles(2 Australian Open, 3 French Open, 4 Wimbledon and 3 US Open titles) and 4 grand slam mixed doubles titles(2 Australian Open, 1 each of Wimbledon and US Open).

She also won 2 silver medals in women's doubles and a bronze medal in women's singles events in Olympics.

She was inducted into International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2005.

3. William Ramsay

William Ramsay was a Scottish chemist and discoverer of noble gases(a group of chemical elements with similar properties).

He was also a co-identifier of argon chemical element.

His work to isolate argon, neon, krypton, helium and xenon lead to changes in periodic table with an inclusion of new section.

For his inventions and isolation, Ramsay was co-honoured with Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1904.

4. Lal Bahadur Shastri

Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian freedom fighter, politician and leader of Indian National Congress who went on to become the second Prime Minister of India.

He was a Railways Minister in the Independent India's first government under Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

His slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan(Hail the soldier, hail the farmer) is so famous and it inspired Indian soldiers during 1965 Indo-Pak war.

He was a supporter of White Revolution and Green Revolution and particularly encouraged the milk production and agriculture.

5. Chuck Williams

Chuck Williams was an American author, editor and founder of Williams-Sonoma Company.

He wrote over 100 cookery books and was instrumental in introducing French Cookware to Americans through his retail business.

Williams started Williams-Sonoma company with hardware business, but later changed that to French Cookware with Williams-Sonoma expanding it's business it is one of the largest retail stores chain now in US.
