Oggi voglio parlarvi di questa esperienza che spero non vi sia mai utile nella pratica, ma che potrebbe esserlo. Una settimana fa, Cispi, il cane di Heva, ha visto bene di andare a cercare il veleno per topi dietro la stufa ( la stufa non è stabile quindi è riuscita ,raggiungere il fondo muovendo la grata). Fortunatamente ci siamo accorti subito che cosa aveva mangiato grazie ai residui di colore azzurro rimasti in bocca e abbiamo collegato quindi la stufa spostata al veleno per topi, ci sono stati 5 minuti di panico. Istintivamente abbiamo provato a farla vomitare mettendogli le dita in gola. Contemporaneamente abbiamo chiamato il veterinario di fiducia, che ci ha tranquillizzato dicendomi che seguendo le indicazioni da lui fornite il cane non avrebbe avuto nessun problema in futuro e quindi di iniziare facendole bere dell'acqua ossigenata, nel nostro caso all'incirca 200 ml, calcolando che Cispi è un labrador di 27\28 Kg. (ovviamente in caso di necessità contattate il vostro veterinario di fiducia poiché la dose cambia da cane a cane.) A noi sembrava strano che dovesse bere così tanta acqua ossigenata, però effettivamente ha una sua logica. Per somministrargliela è stata una lotta, ma, finito il quantitativo necessario, sempre mettendogli le dita in gola, si sono visti i risultati: il cane ha prima iniziato a schiumare e poi ha vomitato buona parte del veleno ingerito.
Dopo questa operazione, sempre sotto l'indicazione del veterinario abbiamo comprato con la ricetta da lui inviata degli integratori di vitamina k. Ovviamente come su tutte le medicine per cane ci hanno lucrato tantissimo sopra, abbiamo dovuto pagare 3 scatole 31,50 euro l'una per un totale di 94,50 .

(of course, if necessary, contact your veterinarian because the dose changes from dog to dog.) It seemed strange to us that he had to drink so much hydrogen peroxide, but he actually has his own logic. It was a struggle to give it to him, but once the necessary quantity was finished, always putting his fingers in his throat, the results were seen: the dog first started to foam and then vomited a good part of the ingested poison.
After this operation, always under the indication of the veterinarian we bought vitamin K supplements with the recipe he sent. Obviously as on all the medicines for dog they have made a lot of money on it, we had to pay 3 boxes 31.50 euros each for a total of 94.50.
Il principio attivo del veleno per topi è il bromadiolone, che è un anticoagulante, antagonista della vitamina k,che porta a emorragie interne che causano la morte. I sintomi non si manifestano prima delle 24\36 ore dall'ingestione del veleno(dipende comunque dai casi, infatti è possibile che si presentino anche dopo 4\5 giorni). L'antidoto quindi consiste nella reintroduzione della vitamina k.

Abbiamo utilizzato il veleno per topi per necessità poiché il camper è parcheggiato in una zona industriale infestata dai roditori, abbiamo provato altre soluzioni ma niente. Consiglio a prescindere di non utilizzarlo a patto che non sia indispensabile, perché una volta morto il topo che ha assunto il veleno, se mangiato da un altro animale, potrebbe innescare lo stesso processo portando alla possibile morte.
We used rat poison out of necessity since the camper is parked in an industrial area infested with rodents, we tried other solutions but nothing. I recommend regardless of not using it as long as it is not essential, because once the mouse that has taken the poison dies, if eaten by another animal, it could trigger the same process leading to possible death.
Questa è Cispi oggi dopo metà della cura, non ha avuto nessun problema ed è pimpante come al solito, mangia, beve e fa i suoi bisogni come sempre.
