2 DEATH HAS HAPPENED

A man in his 90s and a man in their 30s died after contracting COVID-19.

NSW Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian said the man in his 30s had other health problems, while the man in his 90s had never been vaccinated.

There have been 91 COVID-19 deaths in NSW since the start of the epidemic.

LIMITATION OF RESTRICTIONS POSSIBLE

Berejiklian gave his strongest speech that some of the COVID-19 restrictions in the state will be eased later this month.

Premier said that if the vaccination rate continues like this, 6 million vaccines will be administered by the end of August.

“With 6 million vaccines by the end of August, if successful, there will be opportunities for some areas with low cases and high vaccination rates to do more than they do today,” Premier said.

Berejiklian said health officials are starting to see a downward trend in the Fairfield and Canterbury-Bankstown local government districts (LGA).

Regions with case increases

An increase in cases has been reported in the neighboring municipal areas of Bayside, Burwood and Inner West.

HOSPITALS AND VACCINATIONS

Currently, the number of Covid patients admitted to hospitals is 374. 62 people are in intensive care, 29 are on a ventilator. 3 patients in their 20s, 7 in their 30s, 6 in their 40s, 14 in their 50s, 13 in their 60s, 16 in their 70s and three in their 80s. was declared.

NSW chief medical officer Kerry Chant said 57 of the 62 people in the intensive care unit were not vaccinated.

“Five people got one dose of vaccine,” Chant said. “We don't have anyone in the ICU who gets two doses.”
