Weird Whales is a collection of NFT’s created by a 12 year old named Benyamin who lives in western Europe. He began coding at the age of 5 and made the weird whales NFT earlier this year in July. Benyamin says the project began as an educational goal, not a cash grab. He made the art for the whale art, and traits and then algorithmically generated them into individual NFT’s with an open-source python script that he modified.
The project has already made Benyamin about $400,000. Benyamin did watch lots of open-source code, and joined discords with developers. His minecraft collection is one he hand drew each rarity with photoshop, and this took long. He got his image generation script from burned bananas, another NFT creator through a discord chat.
