The French national team defeated Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final and lifted its second World Cup in history. Precisely, on both occasions, Didier Deschamps was present.

Both in France 1998 and in Russia 2018, the now technical was the protagonist and witnessed the two most significant achievements in his country. In 1998, Deschamps was on the squad as a player, while now in Russia he lived as a coach.

For this reason, the current coach of France became the third man to achieve this, along with Mario Zagallo (champion in Sweden 1958 and Chile 1962 as a player, and Mexico 1970 as coach) and the German Franz Beckenbauer (raised the cup in Germany 1974 as player and in Italy 1990 as DT).
