China is considering abolishing the policy of adhering to two children

China is considering issuing a bill to abolish the policy of having only two children.

The draft new civil code, which will be presented to the Standing Committee at the Chinese National People's Congress this week, no longer includes family planning rules, taking into account "the changing demographic situation" of the country, the official Xinhua news agency said.

Other media sources concluded that if the draft law was passed as planned in 2020, it would be highly recommended after that date to abolish all restrictions on reproduction.

Three years ago, China announced the end of a one-child policy that lasted for decades because of the rapidly growing society's aging. Since then, two children have been allowed to have children.
