We all know about ADOBE FLASH PLAYER. But did you know it's soon going to extinct from our life? Yeah, you read that right.
In Today's blog I am gonna acknowledge this matter and answer some of the FAQs which will arise in your Mind. How this will effect our day to day internet surfing, and so on.
(Just for those who didn't know)
Adobe Flash Player is computer software for using content created on the Adobe Flash platform, including viewing multimedia contents, executing rich Internet applications, and streaming audio and video. Flash Player can run from a web browser as a browser plug-in or on supported mobile devices.
Adobe will stop distributing and updating Adobe Flash Player after 31 December 2020 (“EOL Date”). No more updates. No more Flash Plug-ins. (Shall I worry 😟 or celebrate 🥳?)
Open standards such as HTML5, WebGL, and WebAssembly have continually matured over the years and serve as viable alternatives for Flash content. Means they can easily replace Adobe Flash Player. Adobe is no more required to utilize it's man-power behind it's aging product (where Adobe gets no money, lol.)
July, 2017. By announcing this decision in 2017, with three years’ advance notice, Adobe could assure that it would allow sufficient time for developers, designers, businesses, and other parties to migrate existing Flash content as needed to new, open standards.
No & Yes. Alternatives will be there to help you out. e.g. Open standards such as HTML5, WebGL, and WebAssembly.
Yes.
The question won't arise. Adobe will not issue Flash Player updates or security patches after the EOL Date. Users will be prompted by Adobe to uninstall Flash Player on their machines later this year and Flash-based content will be blocked from running in Adobe Flash Player after the EOL Date.
NOT AT ALL. Browsers will give push notifications well in advance about the steps you need to follow.
