What a struggle

My oldest child is becoming 13 this year, and has a severe case of ... puberty. It is completely insane sometimes, from being extremely sweet he turns into a monster saying the most awful things and crying and yelling his guts out! It is one hell of a struggle for us and for him, we just don’t have a clue how to handle with it sometimes, and I think he doesn’t either...

Why do these hormones act like that? Couldn’t evolution have handled this better?
