My previous post on #needleworkmonday was a tutorial on how to make a crochet bag. Today I wanna share you, another tutorial on how to make crochet short.
Materials:
*mercerized cotton in different colors
*2.5mm hook
*scissor
Pattern/Procedure:
FRONT Portion of the short
Create a magic circle. (Double pull)
1st layer: chain 4 (treble crochet), TC 23 and slip stitch.
2nd layer: chain 4 (TC), TC 2 (on the same stitch) skip 3 stitch, TC 3 chain 2,TC 3 (1st corner of square), skip 3 stitch, TC 3, skip 3 stitch, TC 3, chain 2, TC 3 (2nd corner), skip 3 stitch, TC 3,skip 3 stitch, TC 3, chain 2, TC 3 (3rd corner), skip 3 stitch, TC 3, skip 3 stitch, TC 3, chain 2, TC 3 (4th corner) and slip stitch.
3rd layer: chain 4 on the corner, skip 3 stitch, TC 3 and so on then chain 4 back to the 1st corner.
4th layer: chain 4, skil 3 stitch, TC 3 and so on then chain 4 and slip stitch.
5th layer: chain 4 (TC), TC 2, skip 3.stitch and so on then lock.
6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th layer: follow 4th layer
7th, 9th, 11th and 13th layer: follow 5th layer
*BACK Portion - follow pattern of the front portion of the shortConnect the 2 sides by single crochet as well as the bottom.
Right side: connect from top to bottom
Left side: leave atleast 1 & 1/2 inch from top before connecting (purpose: easy to wear)
Left & right leg portion: (1st layer) chain 4, TC 1, skip 3 stitch, TC 3, and so on. (2nd layer: alternate 3 treble crochet and skip 3 stitch)
(3rd layer) TC 3,chain 2,TC 3 on same spot,then SC until end.
(4th layer) TC 3,picot,TC 3 on same spot,then SC until end.
Top layer of the short: (1st layer) chain 4(TC), TC 2,chain 1, TC 3,chain 1, TC 3 until end
(2nd layer) same with layer 1,alternate only
(last layer) single crochet.
Make a tie with tassels.
You can use any color you want, and decrease or increase the number of layers (sample above is 14layers,medium size) according to your body size.
