Useless information #60 – Frogs can see colours in the dark

Yes, apparently they come equipped with high quality night vision.

Humans, and most vertebrates, have two types of cells that enable us to see. Cones are responsible for colour and rods take over when there is too dark. Frogs, however have special rods with two different sensitivities that allow them to see colours in extreme darkness.
