One of the best things about living along the Southern California coast is the beautiful way a sunset looks over the water. Sometimes we'll be driving up or down the coast and pull over just to watch...and we're not alone. It's a pretty popular thing to do and, when you do it, it just seems natural to pull out a camera or your phone to try to capture it.
My "go to" place for sunsets is near Emma Wood State Beach because it's minutes from my house and has free roadside parking with easy access to a long stretch of beach. This time of the year, the sun sets over Santa Cruz Island:
At other times of the year, the sun will set more northerly, over Pitas Point and Faria Beach, up this way:
Well, the sun has set. Time to put away the camera and enjoy a few more moments of this golden hour in the Golden State:
