Another Devastating Loss To The Music World: RIP Chester Bennington

Very sad news in the music world today as the leader singer for Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, committed suicide in his home in Los Angeles.

Only 41 years old and leaving behind 6 children from two separate women, this loss comes only a couple of months after Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell tragically passed away.

The strange thing about this situation is that Chester sang at Chris’s funeral, and today also happens to be Chris Cornell’s birthday. The two were obviously friends, so it’s quite possible that Chester was depressed thinking about his pal.

When I was in highschool and after, Linkin Park’s first album was one that I listened to constantly, and so hearing this news today kinda tore me up inside. My prayers are with all of the friends, family, and saddened fans of Chester.

Shortly after Cornell’s passing, Linkin Park dedicated one of their songs to Chris and it was fortunately recorded. Watching this video today is a bit surreal knowing he is gone, but it makes the song even more emotional. If you are also a bit shaken by the news then go ahead and watch this video but keep a few kleenex handy. RIP Chester Bennington.
