As you may already know, i'm addicted to music. This is one reason why i'm always looking
for new albums and band to enrich my personal playlists. This is not properly the case since
i used to know Beirut since several years but they are back and this buzz my heart up.
GALLIPOLI is the new name, as the city in Italy, reminding again summer, wine, beaches and interrupted loves and what i really appreciate of this abum is that they somehow touch the melancholy of the souls without flooding in sadness or discourageness.
As always the band, which imho can be easily classified as indie-psychedelic-pop, is characterized by many intrumental songs and tracks where many different instruments plays a role, such as flaute, bongos, piano and ukulele.
This guys have been stopped for 5 long years since release a new album! Such a long time to think and produce something brilliant. Indeed, the last album was NO no no and was released in 2015, where, the previous one was released on 2011. Seems that for these american guys the lucky number is not 3 but 4.
The album is called like this since it has been recorded mainly in Puglia, Italy and Berlin at the end and this reminds me a bit something like a vintage postcard or a shop.
Once again the frontman, Zan Condon, has confirmed himself to be a polyedric musician and artist of sound and words, where a dreamful and psychedelic melody bring us hand by hand to a journey in the south of Italy, France and Spain.
So once again they confirmed to be a great band with european, folk an gipsy tastes which can be compared to whatever else more famous band who earn much more than they do.
Or, this might be their major luck.
