Siouxsie and the Banshees - Spellbound

I've been a bit of a Siouxsie kick

over the last few days, and while driving out of town, went through her and The Banshees first 4 or 5 albums in their entirety, so this seems like a prime time for this post. I was first introduced to the band in high school, initially just from seeing a shirt with the band's logo, which I thought was interesting, so I purchased a singles compilation a few weeks later, and was immediately hooked. The band was formed in 1976 in London, England by singer Siouxsie Sioux and bassist Steven Severin, though the other members have shifted around over the years. The Cure's Robert Smith played guitar for them at one point, though John McGeoch is their best known guitarist, who created a super original sound that really defined a certain era of the band (McGeoch is also known for his work with Magazine). Today's song is the single from the band's 1981 album Juju, and has remained a favorite ever since I first heard it on that aforementioned singles compilation. The arpeggiated guitar parts in the Verses is awesome, and definitely a bit of an out-there progression, though I think the chorus is my absolute favorite section; it's a totally wild line, but when backed up by the rest of the group, works perfectly, adding a very mysterious sort of vibe that definitely fits the themes.
