August 1st 1966 was the day our innocence was once shattered. A sniper rode the elevator to the top flooring of the enduring tuition of Texas Tower and opened hearth, protecting the campus hostage for ninety six minutes in what was once a previously unattainable occasion.
TOWER combines archival photos with rotoscopic animation of the dramatic day, based utterly on first person stories from witnesses, heroes and survivors, in a seamless and suspenseful retelling of the unfolding tragedy.
The film highlights the fear, confusion, and visceral realities that changed the lives of these present, and the rest of us, endlessly - a day when the worst in one man brought out the first-class in so many others.
Tower is a vivid image of derangement, heroism, patience and repeatedly admitted cowardice on what remains essentially the most tradgic day in university of Texas history.
Regardless of the grim subject, Tower presents moments of precise hope within the acts of bravery and kindness that took location in the course of the siege.
