The Reason You're Here

No matter the circumstances surrounding your birth, no matter your background, one thing you should know is that you have reasons why you are alive - you are not by accident. This means that you have a purpose for which you should fulfil and that is what gives your life a meaning. When you know that you are here to fulfil a particular purpose, you will not approach life casually. You are not just to fill up an empty space but you are here to create an impact.

Each time you want to feel down, maybe because of what is happening or not happening around you, just reassure yourself with these words "I have a reason of being here". These words will create a meaning for your life and will give you the oomph to pursue life. When you know that something valuable can come out of your life, you will not give up on life itself. A friend of mine once said this very wise and insight quote:

When life brings challenges to you, remind yourself that you are here for a reason, and not just for a season.

As long as you are still breathing, then your life is not meaningless, because life is the anchor upon which every other thing, even hope, hinges on. Your purpose in life can still be realized no matter how long it takes. Moreover, that something takes time to manifest does not mean that the manifestation will be denied. Do not allow the challenges that are facing you to make you to question your very own existence or to make you to worry about your personal values.

It will always take a boisterous sea to bring out the best in every sailor. In the same way, the challenges that come to you do not come to attack and overcome you but to make you better and for you to leverage on them to increase your value, which will ultimately give your life a meaning. The truth is, without challenges, victory may not be in view. Remember, a soldier is not tested and verified in the office but in the battle field.

How you see your challenges is a function of how you rate yourself and a function of the value and self-worth you place on yourself. If you see yourself bigger than the challenge, then you will see the challenge as a stepping-stone or springboard that will give you the boost to ascend higher. However, if you see the challenge as bigger than you, the challenge may become a stumbling block to your progress.

Instead of focusing your attention on the challenge, it will be better and worthwhile to focus more on improving yourself to face the challenge. You are not here to bow to challenges but to use them to create impact. You may not be able to stop darkness from coming, but if you have light, you will not be scared of the darkness. More so, you will use the light to create values for others in darkness. You see, your value makes more meaning in the presence of challenges.

Instead of wishing for challenges not to come, it is better you utilize that time to grow up and get better. The more you grow, the more you will realize that you can confront the challenges that you were once scared of.
