The Discipline To Keep Going

There are times when you will need to keep going, not because it is convenient but because you have something in view. Discipline is simply an act of denying yourself the convenience of the present moment in order to secure the convenience of the future. In the course of your life's journey, you may feel like throwing in the towel and quitting. However, discipline will demand you should keep going, not because you feel like it nor because someone is motivating you to do it, but because it needs to be done.

There is no one that emerges to be a star by accident, they must have stories behind it and these stories are full of scars. To know the pathway to the glory of successful people, listen to their story - the sacrifices they had to make, the feeling of "I quit" that they had to ignore, the scars that they had to sustain, the discipline that they made their allies. All these are what form the glory you see in them.

Giving up at the sight of every challenge is a show of gross indiscipline and it will hamper advancements greatly. There are things you are not supposed to find yourself doing, this is not because those things are wrong or illegal but because they may not be necessary or expedient at the moment. On the other hand, there are things you should do, not because you are motivated to do it but because necessity is laid on you to do it. You need the combination of wisdom and maturity to be able to differentiate both of them.

It is your act of discipline that will make you to maintain the course of your dream without giving attention to discouragements. When you define your dreams, you should give it all it takes for them to find fulfilment. Discipline starts from where you are. If you cannot be disciplined enough to stay on course with little, it may not happen when you have much.

One place to exercise discipline is in the area of finances. Financial discipline is a must if you will achieve true financial independence. You do not spend because you want to buy something but because you need to buy it. You should be able to differentiate between the things you want from the things you truly need, this will enable you to channel your finances aright and prioritise your spendings.

Many people have bought things that they do not need (most times on impulse) maybe to impress someone that do not even regard them. A time may come when they will have to sell what they need as a way of ensuring their survival. Be wise in your spendings. If you cannot comfortably afford something at the moment, do not strain your pocket to go for it now. After all, there are many alternatives to that particular thing.
